One of the most important things that you should never forget in preparing for your wedding is of course your wedding ring. A wedding ring carries a heavy meaning and it is always part of the wedding ceremony in almost all the cultures around the world.
A wedding ring is circle which is a symbol of infinity. It doesn’t have an end. It symbolizes the promise of the groom and the wife to stay together in faith, loyalty and love for the rest of their lives.
This is the reason why when choosing your wedding ring you have to take into consideration the fact that you will wear your wedding ring for the rest of your life. It is one of the things that you should not compromise. You may find a very cheap wedding ring but you cannot be sure that it can last for years.
Among the materials used for a wedding ring—gold, white gold, silver, titanium and platinum—gold is the most popular choice. When you want to have the classic plain gold wedding ring, make sure that the gold content is at least 75%. There are gold wedding rings that are cheap but are made of ore. These are the ones that break and change color after 15 to 20 years.
Titanium and platinum wedding ring are new metals. Young couples choose them because they are not easily melted like the gold which can be easily melted and added with other metals. Titanium and platinum can be stronger than gold but the down side is that they are easily scratched.
For the stones, the most popular and still the most expensive is the diamond. In the last years, pink diamond is the favorite of the brides. But white diamond the best-seller at the wedding ring stores. Diamond is very strong and it lasts, well, forever. Other stones such as crystals and birth stones are also used for the wedding ring but they are not as strong as the diamond.
In my next entries, I’ll talk more about each of the wedding ring metals and wedding ring stones that I have mentioned here.
